💦💧River Nile flood simulation 💧💦

At the start of our Ancient Egypt topic, we learned about how the ancient civilisation was established thanks to the annual flooding of the Nile river. We recreated the banks of the river and flooded it. A few weeks later, the ‘crops’ began to grow!

🎨🤗 Exploring with clay 🤗🎨

We have been exploring how to make textures using crayons, pattern and oil pastels but our latest exploration has been with clay. We explored how to recreate fruity textures such as pomegranate, lemons, strawberries and kiwi! We will be using our skills to make a household item that will be taken home at half term!

🐣🥚🐰 Easter Egg Displays 🐰🥚🐣

Thank you to everyone who entered the annual Easter display event! We were absolutely blown away by the standard and we were told the judges had a hard time making their decisions! Check out Year 3’s entries for 2024

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE! They were absolutely brilliant!!!

🥪 D and T: Sandwiches 🥪

This half term we have been taking on the process of making a healthy sandwich!

We began by retrieving our knowledge of a balanced, healthy diet; the need for all food groups to be incorporated proportionately in our diets.

We then analysed a selection of different fillings and combinations of fillings. Giving them a score out of ten individually, and then as a combination.

After this, we designed our healthy sandwich, taking into consideration our flavour preferences AND our knowledge of balancing food groups.

Eventually, we baked our own bread to use in our sandwiches. We had to knead the dough for a while, and it was hard work!!! Our bread was a great success and we are so proud of ourselves.

We will finish off the unit by evaluating our sandwiches, saying what we liked, disliked and how we could improve our sandwich.

Check us out! What’s your favourite healthy sandwich?

✝️ 🌼What’s good about Good Friday?🌼✝️

This half term, we revisited the Easter story and discussed the themes surrounding Good Friday: sacrifice, betrayal, forgiveness and faith. For our last lesson, we made the cross to symbolise how Christian’s remember the sacrifice Jesus made and included some bible verses that tell of the gift God gave to his people, in sacrificing his only son.

We think you’ll agree, they look fabulous!

John 3:16 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

⭐️Year 3 Well Done Winner⭐️ 18.3.24

Kindness is such a wonderful attribute to have and, unfortunately, there is no test, level or grade for ‘kindness’ in schools, but if there was… this super star would pass with flying colours, every single time!!!! He is so thoughtful, kind and considerate, and we are so lucky to have him in our class! Congratulations for being a such a great role model! Well done! ⭐️
